Long Lake Winter Carnival

Winter Carnival in Long Lake starts Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. with a free Kids’ Movie Night at Mt. Sabattis Geiger Arena, “How To Train Your Dragon.”

Winter Carnival at Mt. Sabattis Recreation Area off Rt. 30/28N will be Saturday starting at noon, with games and other activities for the entire family.

The carnival starts with a Snowmobile Parade at noon followed by coronation of the king and queen, free sledding and ice skating, snowmobiling, a bonfire and fireworks at dusk.

Food will be served all day by Long Lake Fire Department.

Competitions include:

12:45 p.m. Cardboard Box Derby Race,

1:15 p.m. Half-Court Basketball,

1:45 p.m. Firemen’s Relay,

2 p.m. Kids’ Balloon Chase,

2:15 p.m. Snowball Golf,

3:15 p.m. Ladies Frying Pan Toss,

4 p.m. Puck Shot and

4:30 p.m. Broomball.

Cash prizes are awarded.

Teams of five compete in Broomball; players must be ages 12 and up.

The Little Bus will shuttle between the hamlet and the event from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., escorting children and families to their homes, lodgings and out to dinner. Call (518) 354-1510 for a ride.
