PISECO -- An ad hoc Capital Improvement Committee has been formed for the Piseco school building and a new superintendent of schools, Richard Rose, has been chosen.

Trustee Scott Pierce, John Rajca, Greg Dorr, Mel LaScola, John Casey and the superintendent of schools were appointed to the committee.

Rose's appointment is subject to agreement on terms and conditions of employment. President Christine Michienzi was authorized to negotiate on behalf of the school district. Michienzi and Trustee Sue Casey voted 'aye' while Pierce voted 'nay.'

As of Jan. 9 the contract had not yet been completed and approved by the board.
