Lake Pleasant ready for 2012

LAKE PLEASANT - The Lake Pleasant Town Board took the actions necessary to organize for the new year Jan. 3.

Supervisor Neil McGovern was named voting delegate to the Annual Business Session of the Association of Towns of the State of New York, being held Feb. 19-22.

The following appointments were made: Deputy Supervisor Robert Peck; Budget Officer Nancy Seifts; Attorney for Town Monica Duffy; Historian Annie Weaver; Health Insurance Representative Deborah O’Rourke; Justice Court Clerk Deborah O’Rourke; Deputy Court Clerk Faith Cleveland; Animal Control Officer Mike Peck; Registrar of Vital Statistics Deborah O’Rourke; Purchasing Agent Neil McGovern; Youth Recreation Director Richard Mayers; Parks & Recreation Foreman Leo Desrochers; Code Enforcement Officer Victoria Buyce; and Zoning Officer Fred Slack.

Superintendent of Highways Leo Desrochers has named Edward Brooks his foreman. Brooks will take over when Desrochers is not present.

The official bank is NBT and the official newspaper is Hamilton County Express. Mileage reimbursement for town employees using their own vehicles on town business was set at $0.55 per mile.

Town Board meetings will be held at the Municipal Center on Rt. 8 at 7 p.m. the first and third Mondays of each month, or as otherwise published and/or posted. There will not be a meeting when a Monday is a legal holiday.

Planning Board Chairman Thomas Connolly was reappointed to a term ending Dec. 31, 2015 and James Bain was appointed to the board to a term ending Dec. 31, 2015.

John Mullens was reappointed to the Board of Assessment Review to a term ending Dec. 31, 2017.

Tom Basnight and Tim Smith were appointed to the Zoning Board of Appeals, to terms ending Dec. 31, 2014.

Town Clerk / Tax Collector office hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

McGovern was authorized to enter into a contract with Chazen Associates, which will be putting together a study for the Revitalization Plan.

The Town Board will next meet Monday, Jan. 23.
