BLUE MT. LAKE - It doesn’t happen in every post office, but here in Blue Mountain Lake the date and zip code will be the same Saturday: 1-28-12.

A special pictorial cancellation will be held at the post office from 10 a.m. to noon. Mr. Zip is featured on this special cancellation to be used this one day.

People are encouraged to stop and by, mail a letter and receive the special zip cancellation. Articles receiving the special cancellation need first class postage attached.

Pictorial cancellations are available at all post offices. Interested groups celebrating a special anniversary or event should contact their local postmaster for more information on hosting a cancellation in their community.

Postmaster Liz Forsell points out Blue Mountain Lake will reach this special event a second time, Dec. 8, 2012: 12-8-12. Readers might want to start a new hobby, she says.
