Feb. 8-9

Poker Run

Open Of Business Fri. - 5 p.m. Sat. The Moonlighters Snowmobile Club’s Poker Run spans Newcomb, Long Lake and Raquette Lake. Pick up play cards at the Newcomb House or The Raquette Lake Tap Room for $10 each and get them stamped at each stop. Ends at the Adirondack Hotel where dealing starts at 4 p.m. Prizes. 518-624-3941/2009

Lake Eaton

Ice Fishing Derby

7 a.m. - 3 p.m. Register at Town Hall 6-6:30 a.m. $25 each. Cash prizes for trout and landlocked salmon. Live weigh-in at the Lake Eaton Camp-ground Beach. Sponsored by Long Lake Fish & Game Club.

Feb. 16-17

Raquette Lake

Winter Carnival

Small town tradition and big time fun. Events and games for ages 5-12 start at 10 a.m. Sat. Ladies Frying Pan Toss and Men’s Golf Drive at noon. Tug of war, bonfire and fireworks in the evening. Cross-Cut & Chainsaw Competitions start at noon Sunday. 518-624-3077

Skate Night

6-10 p.m., Geiger Arena Ice Rink. All ages can enjoy some roller rink favorites at the Long Lake Ice Skating Rink. The DJ spins tunes all evening. Survivor Games

Snow Sculpting:

Giant Snowman

12 p.m., Geiger Arena. We will attempt to create the world’s tallest snowman (must reach over 114 feet). Snow-Castle building will also take place so bring your beach toys. Some snow-castle sculpting tools provided. Call 518-624-3077 for more.

Trivia Night

Join the Blueline Geocachers for a one-of-a-kind Adirondack Winter Event. X-C ski, snowshoe, snowmobile, camp outdoors or cozy up inside.
