Driver safety class set

WELLS - The AARP Driver Safety Program Course will be offered in Wells Saturday, May 11, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cost is $17 for AARP members / $19 non- members, to be paid the day of the class. It will be held at the Meal Site on Buttermilk Hill Road off State Route 30 right behind Wells United Methodist Church. The instructor will be Jerry Ferro.

This course is an eight-hour classroom refresher for motorists aged 50 and older. The course reviews driving skills and techniques, as well as strategies and tips to help older drivers adjust to normal age-related physical changes that may affect driving ability.

Within 45 days of completion attendees will be mailed a certificate that can be presented to their auto insurance company that should give principle operators of a motor vehicle a minimum 10 percent reduction in the base rate of liability and collision insurance premiums for three years.

The class must be repeated for additional three-year discounts.
