Garage burns on Piseco's Pawling Rd.

Tuesday, March 05, 2013 - Updated: 10:48 AM

PISECO - The garage that burned down here Friday night, March 2, was at 42 Pawling Road, owned by Ralph W. and Ann M. Arend of Bethlehem, Pa.

Town Supervisor Rick Wilt notified Hamilton County Dispatch at 12:34 a.m. that there was a structure fire on Pawling Road.

According to Piseco Volunteer Fire Department Chief Aaron Bartholomew, the garage was fully involved when the firemen arrived on the scene. “Therefore we concentrated on protecting the house then worked on the garage as it calmed down some,” he said.

Although the cause was unknown as of Monday, Bartholomew said there is no suspicion the fire was intentionally set.

Lake Pleasant Volunteer Fire Department was also called out and “gave us some assistance with their tanker and some firefighters, so thanks to them,” Bartholomew said.
