LAKE PLEASANT – The Hamilton County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on a Solid Waste and Recycling Law for Hamilton County when it meets Thursday, March 7, at 11 a.m. in the Court House.

The purpose of the law is to institute a countywide plan for managing recyclable materials in Hamilton County.

If adopted, it will authorize Solid Waste Coordinator Tracy Eldridge to promulgate and publish rules and regulations regarding the drop off at a transfer station or pick up at a residence or business of solid waste and recyclable materials.

The law is based upon the Draft Solid Waste Management Plan which was reported on in the Feb. 20 Hamilton County Express.

Eldridge said, “They [draft plan and law] are two separate documents. The rules and regulations I will have ready after the law passes. These will be what the public will be most interested in seeing.”
