Lauren Holt is April's student

OLD FORGE - The Kiwanis Club of the Central Adirondacks is pleased to announce the Student of the Month for April is Lauren Holt.

Lauren is the daughter of Jim and Chris Holt of Inlet. She is a senior at Town of Webb Union Free School here.

The Kiwanis, with the cooperation of Town of Webb School, initiated a recognition program for senior students at the school in 2007.

Each month from September to April school administrators select a Student of the Month. Each such student receives $50 and, with his or her parents, is invited to a Kiwanis Recognition Event to make a brief presentation.

The Kiwanis Scholarship Committee will select a Student of the Year in May. Each Student of the Year receives $500.

This year The Town of Webb Police Benevolent Association will partner with the Kiwanis in the Student of the Year award.

The selection criteria for Student of the Month are Community Service, Academics, Athletic Involvement, Student Need and Extra Curricular Activities.
