Take a hike with Mitch

INLET--Mitch Lee of the Inlet Information Office will lead a three- to four-hour National Trails Day Hike Saturday, June 1, on the new Seventh Lake community connector trail in Inlet. This trail connects the Moose River Plains primitive camping area to Sagamore Road in Raquette Lake for hiking, mountain biking and snowmobiling.

Meet at Inlet Town Hall at 160 Route 28 here at 9 a.m. The hike, about six miles round-trip, will start at the Seventh Lake boat launch and explore a portion of the trail as it winds its way west toward the Moose River Plains Wild Forest entry point at the Three Mile Marker.

Hikers should pack a lunch, wear sturdy footwear and apply bug spray or wear head nets as it will be during prime black fly season. The terrain is moderate but has some steep climbs and some wet portions.
