GREENE - Mr. and Mrs. Scott Richards of Greene and the Rev. and Mrs. Alfred Hartwig from Indian Lake are pleased to announce the engagement of their children, Kristi Elizabeth Richards and Mark Alfred Hartwig.

Kristi graduated from Greene Central School in 2008, and from Broome Community College in Binghamton in 2011 with a degree in Media Arts and Communications. She also attended Davis College in Johnson City. She is currently employed as a substitute at Greene Head Start and as a secretary at Camp Bayouca in Marathon.

Mark graduated from home school in 2008 and earned a certificate from the School of Modern Welding in Schenectady. He is currently employed as a welder at WesLor Enterprises Inc. in Lyons.

A Sept. 29 wedding is being planned.
