INDIAN LAKE - This year Indian Lake Central School elementary students celebrated Flag Day June 14 with members of the local American Legion.

Students enjoyed a performance by Peggy Lynn, Dan Duggan and Dan Berggren at Indian Lake Theater followed by ice cream with the Legionnaires, donated by Post 1392.

“A special thanks to Judy Cadbury for helping to make this happen,” Principal David Snide said.

In addition to the treat for the elementary students, Post 1392 left an envelope with the school to be given to Richard Corrow upon graduation.

“It contains an award for his excellent scholastic standing,” says Post 1392 Service Officer Frank Casazza, “and a check for $500 will be given to him when he satisfactorily completes his first semester in a college or community college.

“Our post is granting this award in memory of all passed members. It reads, ‘This scholarship is in memory of all those comrades of American Legion Post 1392 who have passed into eternity. So that the memory of these old soldiers never dies.’”
