Friday, June 28, 2013 - Updated: 10:52 PM

WELLS--The annual Town of Wells Community-Wide Garage Sale will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 19-21.

Those who are planning to participate may contact the town clerk at 924-7911 or to have their location starred on a map that will be available at local businesses. The deadline to be on the map is July 17.

Along with many town residents who participate, local organizations are gearing up for the event. Among them are the Virginia Hosley Free Library, which will have a Book Sale next to the Wells Municipal Office Building on State Route 30, and Wells Historical Society, which will boast a wide array of items for purchase outside the Wells Museum on Rt. 30.

Lou Lizak will sell hotdogs, soda and water at this location, with all proceeds benefiting the museum. St. Ann's Catholic Church, 1303 Rt. 30, will offer a wide array of goods this year as well so plan on stopping by.

Wells Improvement Group will again sell barbecued chicken dinners Saturday, July 20, from 1-3 p.m. at Steve's Garage, next door to the Wells Fire House on Rt. 30. Each dinner costs $9 and includes chicken, potato, coleslaw, roll and a bottle of water.

Additionally, WIG is sponsoring music by the County Line Rebels from 4-8 p.m. at the Wells Pavilion. Along with original songs the group performs classic, new country and a little '50s and '60s rock and roll.

Tickets for several drawings held during Old Home Days festivities will be available at various locations in town.

So plan a visit to the Town of Wells and browse the bargains during the town-wide Garage Sale July 19-21. It's a delightful way to find a good deal, and a great opportunity to see a spectacular spot in the beautiful southern Adirondacks.
