Fishermen reel in cash

PISECO - Thirty-five boats entered Piseco Volunteer Fire Department's Bass For Cash fishing derby on Oxbow Lake Saturday, Aug. 10, and 39 bass were caught.

Father and daughter team Alan and Riley Aldi took first place with five bass weighing a total of 13.65 pounds. One was tagged, garnering them an additional $100 in prize money.

John Cook and Dave Grosse came in second with five bass weighing 10.4 pounds, including one that was tagged. They also caught the lunker of the day, a 4.5-pound bass.

Third place went to Nick Sweet and Max Weaver for five bass weighing 9.55 pounds. Fourth place went to Dom Macisco and Dean Couchman, who caught four bass weighing 9.3 pounds.

The pickerel prize went to William and Chris Janiga for four fish weighing 3.95 pounds. Rick and Mike Steele won the sunfish prize, having caught 7 pounds of them.
