AWANA starts Oct. 7

INDIAN LAKE - First Baptist Church of Indian Lake announces the opening of the 40th year of AWANA clubs. Doors open at 5:55 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7. All children of the Indian Lake area from pre-kindergarten through sixth grade are invited to the weekly 90-minute program.

AWANA stands for Approved Workers Are Not Ashamed. Every event, including the AWANA games, is geared to teaching children to be what God wants them to be, without pressing any particular church affiliation.

The program involves line up, salutes, lively songs, Bible study, missions around the world, Bible memory, snacks, crafts and exciting games that teach sportsmanship and team work.

How effective is this club? Grandparents are now bringing their grandchildren to the very program they enjoyed as children. For more information call Liddy Johnson at 648-9919 or Pastor Paul Miller at 648-5015.
