OLD FORGE - An ambitious exhibition at View, “Adirondack View Finders,” is comprised of work from the most influential of current Adirondack photographers: Nathan Farb, Mark Bowie, Nancie Battaglia and Carl Heilman.

View will celebrate the opening with a reception Friday, Dec. 2, from 5-7 p.m. The exhibition will run from Dec. 3 through March 3.

It will include work by newer Adirondack photographers including Johnathan A. Esper, Lesley Dixion and Clark Lubbs. “Teachers Turn: Instructors from the Adirondack Photography Institute,” will open at the same time.

The photography is a large assortment of different perspectives of the Adirondacks: large format prints where viewers can practically smell the pines, hikers proud to have reached summits, wildlife captured taking flight, disorienting reflections in calm lakes and fires roaring under time-lapsed stars streaking across the sky.

Bowie will give a presentation about nighttime photography, “Night Over the North Country,” the first morning of the exhibition Saturday, Dec. 3, at 11 a.m. Admission to his presentation is $10/$5 members and includes exhibition admission.

Exhibition admission is $10/$5 members and groups of six or more. Children under age 12 are admitted free.

View is a multi-arts center located at 3273 State Route 28 in Old Forge. To learn more about View programming, including an upcoming workshop with Carl Heilman, visit www.ViewArts.org or call (315) 369-6411.
