Owens to answer Affordable Care Act questions

Wednesday, December 11, 2013 - Updated: 8:47 PM

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Congressman Bill Owens will hold a telephone town hall  Thursday, Dec. 12, to answer questions about the Affordable Care Act. A representative from New York State of Health, New York’s state-run health insurance marketplace, will join him to answer questions related to the state’s rollout of the Affordable Care Act. The event will occur from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday evening.

“One of the most important things I can do is connect my constituents to factual information about federal policy that directly affects them,” Owens said. “New York state has been a model for successful implementation of the insurance marketplace under the health care law, and I look forward to teaming with the state to answer questions and receive feedback from my constituents about the new options available to them.”

A random sample of residents of the 21st Congressional District will receive an invitation by telephone to participate in the call. Constituents who are not randomly selected and wish to participate in the call can sign up by:

• Emailing their name and complete phone number to ny21townhall@mail.house.gov;

• Calling the congressman’s Washington office at 202-225-4611; or

• Filling out the form provided at http://owens.house.gov/Contact/TeletownHall.htm.

For those unable to participate in the telephone town hall, questions or concerns can be sent to Owens by calling any of his offices in New York or Washington, by visiting his website at http://owens.house.gov, connecting with him on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/repbillowens, or following @BillOwensNY on Twitter.
