Inlet church announces special Christmas events

INLET -  Inlet Community Church has announced several special events to celebrate the Christmas season, including a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service, Christmas Morning Community Breakfast and a New Year’s Eve showing of the movie “Courageous.”

The Candlelight service will run from 7-8 p.m. Christmas Eve. It will include reading the Christmas story from the Bible, interspersed with special musical performances, Christmas carols and short videos and conclude with a traditional candlelight ceremony.

Christmas morning the church will serve breakfast from 9-10:15 a.m. to all in the community who wish to attend. The menu will include scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage, toast, holiday pastries, orange juice and coffee, and each guest will receive a gift. There will be no Sunday School or morning worship service.

At 7 p.m. New Year’s Eve the church will present a special showing of “Courageous,” a family film that earned $33 million at the box office in 2011. By the creators of “Fireproof” and “Facing the Giants,” “Courageous” is a story of four everyday heroes who make a difference on the street but who struggle to serve and protect their loved ones at home. As the police officers discover they are missing the mark and their families are drifting apart, will they rediscover their purpose and find the strength to lead once again? Or will life’s hardships tempt them to choose the easy way out? Admission, popcorn and soda are free.

Inlet Community Church is on South Shore Road, adjacent to the Marina Motel in the hamlet. For more call (315) 357-6390.
