Ann E. (Nancy) Kohlbrenner

PISECO--Ann E. (Nancy) Kohlbrenner of Piseco, NY passed away Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014. She was born Sept. 22, 1933 in Albany, NY. Nancy was the daughter of Frederic and Anna (Nan B.) Cahoon.
Nancy married Dr. Philip J. Kohlbrenner Aug. 31, 1957. She graduated from St. Peter’s Hospital School of Nursing (Albany) and later earned a Certificate of Public Health Nursing from Syracuse University. Nancy spent her entire professional life working in the nursing field. She worked for several years as a Certified Public Health Nurse in Columbia and Onondaga counties, NY, followed by many more years in a number of nursing capacities in Rockland County, NY, most prominently in the psychiatric nursing field.
Nancy was a 30-plus year resident of Pearl River, NY before retiring to her beloved Adirondack Mountains, where she had begun vacationing with her parents as a young child. She was a full-time resident of Piseco, NY for almost 25 years, having vacationed there for many years prior to her retirement.
Nancy is survived by her husband Philip and her six children, Michael, Kathleen, Matthew, Linda, Andrew and Elizabeth Ann and their spouses. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Robert. Nancy is also survived by 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for the summer in Piseco.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Piseco Ambulance Corps, Piseco NY 12139.
