Carl S. Jensen

NORTHVILLE -- Carl S. Jensen, age 83, of South First Street, Northville, died Monday, March 10, 2014 at the River Ridge Living Center in Amsterdam following a long illness.
He was born August 27, 1930 on Fox Hill, Edinburg, N.Y., son of the late Karl and Sophie Syvertsen Jensen. He was a United States Air Force veteran who served in the Korean War.
He was employed as a mason working for the union for many years. He was a member of the Baptist Church of Northville.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Storer Jensen of Northville, who he married in 1961; one son, Christopher S. Jensen I and his wife Patti of Benson; one daughter, Cristen Shepard and her husband Scott of Benson; one brother, Herbert Jensen of Edinburg; a sister, Eleanor Dahlin of Saratoga; grandchildren Christopher S. Jensen II, Emily Shepard, Garrett Shepard, Meghan Jensen and Zachary Jensen; and one great-grandchild, Christopher S. Jensen III.
He was predeceased by brothers Walter, Clifford and George Jensen and Olav Mayren; and sisters Esther Whitney, Dottie Morris, Sonja Van Natter and Violet Jack.
A memorial service will be held Saturday March 22, 2014 at the Baptist Church of Northville at 11 a.m. Burial will take place in the spring in Edinburg Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the River Ridge Living Center Activities Fund, 100 Sandy Drive, Amsterdam NY 12010 or the Parkinson’s Research, C/O Veterans Administration Primary Care, 2623 State Hwy 30A, Fonda NY 12068.

Donald Haner

DENVER, Colo. -- Donald Haner, 86, former owner and operator of Downey’s Chevrolet in Speculator, passed away February 5, 2014 in Denver, Colorado.
He is survived by Norma, his wife of 65 years; son Todd, formerly of Speculator, now of Arvada, Colo.; two daughters; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Surviving siblings in New York are Robert Haner of Northville, formerly of Speculator, and three sisters.
