Jay W. Knapp
March 11, 2013

Jay W. Knapp, 55, a resident of Lake Pleasant, passed away with his loving family at his side Monday, March 11, 2013, at Albany Medical Center.
He was born in Gloversville, N.Y. November 27, 1957, the son of the late Jason Eugene and Beatrice Duhame Knapp. He was a graduate of Wells Central School, Class of 1976.
He was employed by the Town of Lake Pleasant. Jay was an avid Yankees and NASCAR fan and loved fishing and hunting. He was a hard worker, a mason and carpenter and especially loved watching his children's sporting events. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends at Sunrise Diner.
He was a member of Lake Pleasant Volunteer Fire Department, the Fish and Game Club and Speculator Lions Club.
Survivors include: his wife, Beth Knapp of Lake Pleasant; two sons, Jason and Cory Knapp, both of Lake Pleasant; a brother, Martin Knapp of Colonie; and a sister, Donna Knapp of Ballston Lake. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Bruce E. Knapp.
A memorial service will be held  Saturday, March 16, 2013, at 1 p.m. at North Country Bible Fellowship Church, Elm Lake Road, Speculator. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Fish Mountain Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Lake Pleasant Volunteer Fire Department.
