Star E. Pomerleau

LAKE PLEASANT -- Star E. Pomerleau, age 76, of Indian Town Road passed away peacefully Thursday August 1, 2013, in the comfort of her home.
She was born August 19, 1936 in Saranac Lake, N.Y. daughter of the late Joseph and Antoinette (Perry) Boyer.
Star was a graduate of Franklin Academy of Malone, N.Y. and the Utica School of Business, where she received her degree in Data Processing.
Star and Laurent “Sarge” Pomerleau were united in marriage September 17, 1955 in Phoenix City, Ala. and shared a loving union of over 55 years together until Laurent’s passing November 18, 2009.
Prior to her retirement in 1999 Star was employed for 22 years as a bookkeeper with the Oneida Valley Bank.
Star’s greatest enjoyment in life came from being with her family, whom she loved dearly. She enjoyed spending her summers at her camp in Lake Pleasant, N.Y. where she acquired many lifelong friendships. A few of her pleasures were her pets, reading and cooking for family and friends.
Surviving are her three sons and three daughters-in-law, Joseph and Joann Pomerleau and Julien and Cindy Pomerleau of Vernon, N.Y. and Mitchell and Linda Marie Pomerleau of Eaton, N.Y.; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Kenneth Bloom of Sherrill; 13 grandchildren, Travis, Chad, Stacia, Jessie, Shawn, Marcell, Jade, Megan, Mandi, Michelle, Renee, Lisa and Jamie; eight great-grandchildren, Zachary, Sierra, Marcus, Darren, Miguel, Annabelle, Addelyn and Dylan; one brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Cathy Boyer of Oneida; one sister, Dianne Simmons and her companion Glen Smith of Houston, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends called Sunday, Aug. 4, at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 464 Sherrill Rd., Sherrill. Star’s funeral service was held immediately following calling hours at the funeral home.

Bennie David Lamphear

BROADALBIN -- Bennie David Lamphear, “Dave” of Dave’s Electric, died unexpectedly Sunday morning, July 28, 2013.
He was born October 14, 1938 at Charleston. He was the son of the late Bennie and Isalane Lamphear.
His faith in his creator and the love for his family always came first in his life. He had a great love of the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He continued working right up to the end. The family would like to thank his customers for their years of loyalty.
Bennie was predeceased by his sister, Mary Martz, and his brother, Ronnie Fish.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores Herrick Lamphear whom he married March 5, 1960; his sons David, Wayne, Irving (Kimberly Sommer Drake) and Earl; his daughters, Regina Pepper (William) and Tammy Lawson (Clayton); his brothers Laverne Fish (Debbie) and Jerome Lamphear (Jackie); his sisters Elberta Lamphear, Ella McDougall, Nellie Deamer (Ralph) and Betsy Reksc (Michael); his grandchildren, Will Jr. (Crystal), Holly and Bret Pepper, Ruth, Clayton, Elizabeth and Sylvia Lawson and Colin Drake; and great-granddaughter Lucy Pepper. He is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
The memorial service will be held Sunday, August 11, at 7 p.m. at The Kingdom Hall on Kingsboro Avenue in Gloversville. Burial will take place in Speculator.
