Police Report - 01/15/2014

Wednesday, January 15, 2014 - Updated: 8:11 PM

Friday, Jan. 3, about 8:08 p.m.: Diana R. Sponsler, Dewitt, was injured in a one-car accident on Rt. 28 in Raquette Lake, Town of Long Lake.

Sponsler was southbound in a 2005 Dodge Caravan when she lost control on the slippery road and struck a guide rail on the east shoulder. The vehicle continued traveling, crossing both lanes of travel again and hitting the guide rails on the west shoulder.

Sponsler was transported to Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake for minor injuries to her shoulders, back and neck. No tickets were issued.

Friday, Jan. 5, 11:35 a.m.: Tonya L. Leddick, 49, was injured when the Johnsburg Emergency Squad ambulance she was operating on Rt. 28 in the Town of Indian Lake failed to negotiate a curve and she lost control of the vehicle.

Passenger EMT Jamie Callard, 30, Farmington, sustained minor bruising to her legs but was not transported.

Leddick was traveling westerly with lights and sirens activated to a call on Cedar River Road when the vehicle exited the south shoulder and struck a tree. Indian Lake Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported her to Glens Falls Hospital with back pain.

Saturday, Jan. 6, 7:06 p.m.: State Police received a report of a burglary in the Town of Indian Lake.

About two hours later Darien M. Naylor, 18, Queensbury, was arrested at Indian Lake Motel on Rt. 30 for forcibly entering a residence and stealing $100. Naylor was charged with second-degree burglary and third-degree criminal mischief.

He was arraigned in Indian Lake Town Court before Justice Judith Durkin, who remanded him to Hamilton County Jail in lieu of $3,000 cash or $6,000 bond bail.
