Police Report - 02/06/2013

Friday, Jan. 25, 6pm: Leia Gaccione, 29, Patterson, N.J. was injured when her snowmobile failed to negotiate a left hand corner on the FX Matts trail in the Town of Inlet, went off of the trail and struck a rock.

Inlet Volunteer Ambulance Squad transported Gaccione to a Utica hospital. Inlet police investigated, assisted by Town of Webb police. Both the Inlet and Eagle Bay fire departments assisted at the scene.

Saturday, Jan. 26, 1pm: Nicole Evans, 40, Canastota, was injured when her snowmobile failed to negotiate a left hand corner in the Moose River Recreation Area, went off the trail and struck a tree.

Evans was ejected from the snowmobile. Inlet and Eagle Bay emergency personnel treated her at the scene. A LifeNet of New York helicopter transported her to a Utica hospital. Inlet police investigated.

Tuesday, Jan. 29, 1:40pm: A New Jersey man was seriously injured when he lost control of a borrowed snowmobile.

Anthony Zaza, 42, Rutherford, N.J. was eastbound in the Moose River Plains about 12 miles from the Cedar River Road parking area in the Town of Indian Lake when he failed to make the curve at the “Y” intersection with Silver Run Trail in the Town of Arietta.

Zaza’s machine went straight into trees in the “Y” and he was ejected. Indian Lake Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported Zaza to Glens Falls Hospital.

Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Kevin Braunius investigated.
