The drivers of the vehicles following each of them told police Rios was southbound in a 2005 Toyota when he veered into oncoming traffic, hitting Goldbeck's 2010 Toyota head-on.
Ambulance Service of Fulton County transported Goldbeck to Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville with severe bleeding and multiple fractures of her right ankle and Rios to Albany Medical Center with internal injuries. Goldbeck was later transferred to AMC.
Rios was charged with failure to stay in lane. The investigation by Gloversville Police Department Officer Dennis Smith is continuing.

Saturday, March 2, 7:51 p.m.:Sarah B. Snyder, 29, St. Johnsville, was injured in a snowmobiling accident on the Sheriff's Lake Trail in Piseco, .8 miles north of the Powley Road.
According to Hamilton County Sheriff's Office Sergeant Kevin Braunius, who investigated, Snyder was southbound on a 2006 Arctic Cat when her left ski hit a tree, tipping the sled over. She was ejected, breaking four ribs and a scapula.
Piseco and Speculator ambulances responded with their rescue sleds. Snyder was brought to Rt. 10 and loaded aboard a waiting Ambulance Service of Fulton County rig, which took her to Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville.
