FAMILY FUN NIGHT
WELLS--The Wells Improvement Group is hosting a Family Fun Night Saturday, March 15, at Wells Central School. Children ages 4-10 are welcome from 4-7 p.m. and ages 10 and up from 7-9 p.m. The Athletic Association will sell food; the Wesleyan Church and the Hamilton County Youth Board will be there as well.
LONG LAKE--The Town of Long Lake is offering a Defensive Driving Class Saturday, May 3, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Town Hall, 1204 Main St., Long Lake.

THE IRISH LEGEND
WELLS--See "St. Patrick: The Irish Legend" during Movie Night Sunday, March 9, at 6 p.m. at the Wells Wesleyan Church on Main St. here. This 2000 historical drama, action and adventure movie is for all ages. Learn about the life of St. Patrick, who brought Christianity to Ireland, and why this Irish holiday is still celebrated. Patrick Bergin, Malcolm McDowell, Alan Bates and Susannah York star in this lush production filmed on location in Ireland.
IT'S A CROCK POT PARTY
INLET--It's that time of year when the winter doldrums start to set in. To counteract their affects, a group of cooks invite everyone to share some comfort food Saturday, March 8, at noon at Inlet Town Hall. Bring a large pot or crockpot full of a favorite homemade soup to share. In addition, each attendee should also plan to bring $10 to be donated to the local food pantries.
Optionally, one can bring bread, crackers or beverages. Coffee, tea, soda, bowls and spoons and some bread and crackers will be provided. Containers will be available for 50 cents each to take soup home, with that money also going to the food pantry.
SKI TO SANTANONI
NEWCOMB--Cross-country skiers and snowshoers are welcome to visit the Gate Lodge and Main Lodge of Great Camp Santanoni off Rt. 28N here March 15-16. See displays about the great camp and take interpretive tours with staff.

BLUE MT. LAKE--The Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts here will hold auditions for "Charlotte's Web the Musical" and the summer season March 16: at 12 p.m. at Long Lake Town Hall; at 2 p.m. at Indian Lake Theater; and at 4 p.m. at Blue Mt. Lake Fire Hall. All ages are needed.
Come sing, recite a favorite poem or read one of the scenes the AC will provide. It has never been a better time to try out for an AC production. Set up your camera for close up work (macrophotography) of flowers, coins and other small subjects. Sharpen the image and deepen the field of focus. Work with supplemental lighting to emphasize color and form of small things. Bring a DSLR camera with preferred accessories, tripod and Mac or Windows laptop with image editing software. SPORTSMAN'S DINNER SET
WELLS--The 19th Annual Sportsman's Dinner at Wells Central School will be Saturday, March 8. Register from 1-2 p.m. Seminars begin at 2 p.m. The Wild Game Dinner starts at 4:30 p.m., after the seminars.
Topics include Big Woods Whitetail Hunting, Archery, Small Game Hunting, Wilderness Survival, Family Emergency Preparedness, Hiking the Northville Placid Trail and more. The main speaker will be retired Environmental Conservation Officer Deming Lindsey. Door prizes are a rifle, sporting prints and more. Admission is free, but donations are encouraged. One must be at least age 10 to attend.

SARATOGA SPRINGS--New Eastcoast Arms Collectors Associates (NEACA) will host its spring Gun and Militaria Show March 15-16 at Saratoga Springs City Center, 522 Broadway.
Over 250 tables will be covered with products from guns and ammunition to art and Adirondack items as well as historical firearms, Americana, military collectibles, reference books, Civil War swords and artifacts, knives and accessories, survival and camping gear, old animal traps, tanned skins and pelts and more.
