Long Lake man killed in a one-car accident

Saturday, March 31: A Long Lake man, Thom B. Ross, 22, was killed in a one-car accident early Saturday morning.

At approximately 2:30 am, New York State Police Sgt. Reinaldo Alvarez responded to a one vehicle accident on Deerland Road in the Town of Long Lake near Emerson Road.

Alvarez reported Ross was traveling northbound on Deerland Road when he apparently lost control of the vehicle, went into the southbound lane, hit a snowbank, went airborne, overturned and hit a tree.

Ross was pronounced dead at the scene . No other vehicles were involved.

An autopsy was done at Miller Funeral Home in Indian Lake and determined that Ross died from severe head trauma and internal injuries, said Alvarez.

State Police continue to investigate the accident.
