Driver safety class scheduled

WELLS--The AARP Driver Safety Program Course will be offered at the United Methodist Church here, located on the corner of Buttermilk Hill Road and State Route 30, Saturday, May 16, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $20 for AARP members / $25 others, to be paid the day of the class. The instructor will be Ray Hatch.

This course is a classroom refresher for motorists aged 50 and older. It reviews driving skills and techniques, as well as strategies and tips to help older drivers to adjust to age-related physical changes that may affect driving ability. Within 45 days of completion each attendee will be mailed a certificate that can be presented to his or her auto insurance company that should give principle operators of a motor vehicle a minimum 10 percent reduction in the base rate of liability and collision insurance premiums for three years. The class must be repeated for additional three-year discounts.
