HOPE - The Town of Hope Garage is getting some attention.
Three quotes were received from vendors interested in installing a ceiling in the garage: Pro-Build, Johnstown, $5,406; Little Falls Lumber Company, $5,162; and Curtis Lumber Company, $6,521. The Hope Town Board chose Little Falls Lumber Company.
Superintendent of Highways Terry Robinson told the Hope Town Board April 8 that the roof on the garage also needs to be looked at. It was last done in October 1996, he said.
The board authorized Supervisor Robert Edwards to have someone inspect the roof and give an estimate on replacing it.
Robinson also announced this year's Consolidated Local Street and Highway Improvement Program funding is up by $6,000 to $28,576. CHIPs is how the State of New York distributes money from highway-based user fees, such as vehicle registrations, gas taxes, traffic fines etc.
In other business, Scott Fitzgerald was appointed to the Board of Assessment Review, replacing Vincent Chiappinelli, who resigned.
Town Clerk Marleen Webster said the town's new website with Digital Towpath is up and running.
Webster has information on the county's HOME grant program at her office for those who may be interested. The grants fund home improvements for low-income residents.
The new fire contract with the Village of Northville has been approved.
