Prizes include gift certificates or merchandise from local shops, free passes to local attractions, chips, sodas (all donated by local businesses) and novelty toys purchased by Inlet Youth Commission with the help of monetary donations.
The ping-pong balls are dropped from a seaplane owned by Payne's Air Service, which volunteers its service and time for this event.
Organizers want to pass out gift certificates to restaurants, gift shops and attractions that will bring people into these establishments.
To contribute money to this event please contact Town of Inlet Information Office at (315) 357-5501 or email@example.com as soon as possible so organizers know how much they will have to spend on prizes.
To donate an item drop it off at Inlet Information Office or call to arrange pick up. Monetary donations, gift certificates and passes can be mailed to: Inlet Youth Commission, POB 412, Inlet NY 13360. IYC can make certificates for if needed; just ask.
Volunteers are also important to this event. Trying to hand out prizes to 700 children quickly, to avoid disappointment, is a difficult task. The more hands helping, the happier everyone will be. To volunteer July 4 between 12:30 and 1:45 p.m. give Inlet Information Office a call.
