I attended Hamilton County Republican Committee-sponsored event at The Woods Inn June 8. I was very impressed with congressional candidate Matt Doheny's reply concerning his plan and commitment to bring broadband to those of us in the North Country.
Often citizens do not directly benefit from the actions of a congressman, but providing necessary technology communications will help all of us. This would stimulate new business startups, improve existing business and increase technology usage for everyone.
We have a seasonal home in the Adirondacks. Matt's pledge would allow my husband to work from "home," which is now unavailable. Working from home is favored and becoming very popular across the country. It needs to be made available to us in the Adirondacks.
Many full-time and part-time residents both would utilize and benefit from this service. This would keep people in the area longer spending money... on gas, food, services, retail, entertainment and so on.
Republicans -- on primary day June 24 vote for Matt Doheny. He will generate business and get us broadband communications we desperately need. Matt made the promise; let's get him elected and hold him to it!
