Thank you, International Paper

Dear Editor,

The staff and students of Lake Pleasant Central School would like to express our appreciation to Marilyn Tanner, International Paper and the staff of Hamilton Lake Lodge for hosting the seventh International Paper / LPCS Golf Scramble June 22. As a result of this event $6,851 was raised to provide funding for technology equipment, playground improvements and other projects for the school.

Seventy-two golfers from around the area enjoyed a superb day of golf on Hamilton Lake's picturesque course that is beautifully maintained by Tim Thompson and his crew. Moreover, the staff of Hamilton Lake spoiled each of the golfers with tremendous service on the course and during lunch under the direction of Executive Chef Sean O'Rourke. Thank you so much for your hard work and cheerful service.

Everyone had a wonderful time due to the organization and service of Marilyn Tanner and the staff at Hamilton Lake. Thank you for your commitment to the school and the community.

In addition to Hamilton Lake I would also like to thank the following businesses, organizations and individuals who assisted through sponsoring the various holes: Tracy Lumber, Mountain Market, Pretty & Chic, Lake Pleasant Fire Department, Jerry's Wood Shop, Frontier Communications, O'Connor's Automotive, Village Motorsports, Sparkle Laundromat, Sunrise Diner, Donuts and More, Home Energy Specialists from Northville, Casey's Corner, Oxbow Inn, Lake Pleasant Marine, Independent Builders of Northville, Vogel Construction, Pinnacle Golf and The Inn at Speculator.

Your contributions are greatly appreciated.

I would also like to extend a special thank you to Common Ground and Melody Lodge for sponsoring the closest to the pin. In addition, thank you Tanner's Outdoor Sports for sponsoring the $10,000 Hole-In-One prize and the putting challenge.

Thank you Marilyn, local businesses and area golfers for your generosity and for your continued support of the students at Lake Pleasant Central School.
