LONG LAKE - Two local groups with an overlap of players, Reflections and The Garrison-LeBlanc Trio, will represent North Country artists in a Community Participation Concert at the United Methodist Church here Thursday, Aug. 1, starting at 7:30 p.m.
Members of Reflections are: Skip Houston (vocals, guitar) and Larry Reandeau (guitar) from Tupper Lake and Babbie LeBlanc (vocals, drums, guitar) and Judy Garrison (vocals, keyboard) from Long Lake.
The Garrison-LeBlanc Trio is Babbie LeBlanc and Judy Garrison with the addition of Dave Garrison (guitar). Both groups play a mixture of easy listening oldies, original tunes, classic rock and country.
Reflections started as a duo with Dave and Judy Garrison in 1990. Soon after Babbie LeBlanc was added and Reflections remained a trio for several years, playing music for listening and dancing at public and private occasions, bars and restaurants.
There were a few personnel additions and changes along the way including Dave Garrison, who left the group to take up photography. During that time Reflections added Skip Houston and Larry Reandeau. Now the four-piece group has been together for several years.
About eight years ago Dave and Judy Garrison and Babbie LeBlanc got together to play some music for fun. It went well and talk of an additional group began... thus the Garrison-LeBlanc Trio was formed.
Donations are appreciated to further fund the concert series. A reception to meet the artists will follow the concert. For more information call (518) 624-2056.
This concert is part of a series presented by the Long Lake Friends of Music. It is partially funded with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts' Decentralization Regrant Program, administered in Hamilton County by the Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts in Blue Mountain Lake.
