GLOVERSVILLE - Mountain Valley Hospice and the Mayfield Yacht Club invite everyone to its annual Charity Cup Regatta Party for Hospice Aug. 3.
This year's 'Skipper's Party' will be held under a tent at Lanzi's on the Lake in Mayfield, and a dee-jay will be live on location to help party the night away. There will be a dinner, a silent auction and raffles in addition to the presentation of awards from the day's events, which include the Sailing Regatta and Poker Run.
Tickets, at $25 each, are required for the party. They can be purchased through Rondack Roots Marina (518-613-4366) or Mountain Valley Hospice (518-725-4545) and on the website at www.mvhcares.org.
The Poker Run at Rondack Roots Marina on Lakeside Drive in Mayfield runs from 1-4 p.m. This leisurely run for boats 15 feet and under includes five stops where one can pay to upgrade a hand. The first place team will receive a kayak donated by Adirondack Kayak Warehouse.
Personal flotation devices are required and children under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration costs $20 per vessel and can be done through Rondack Roots Marina (518-613-4366) or on the website at www.mvhcares.org.
Skippers who would like to participate in the third annual two-day Sailing Regatta on the Great Sacandaga Lake can visit the Mayfield Yacht Club website for information and registration details as well as to purchase tickets to the Regatta Party at www.mayfieldyachtclub.com.
To learn more about sailing join a spectator boat. Mountain Valley Hospice has boat owners willing to take guests out to watch the races Saturday. They will pick guests up at and return them to Lanzi's in time for the Regatta Party.
There are limited spaces available so registration is a must. Visit www.MayfieldYachtClub.com and click on 'Hospice Regatta.' There is a suggested donation of $15 per adult (free for children ages 14 and under) that goes directly to Mountain Valley Hospice.
All proceeds from this event go to further Mountain Valley Hospice's mission: to provide hospice care to all appropriate patients and families in Fulton, Hamilton, Montgomery and Saratoga counties.
