In The Service


of Inlet graduated with honors from Basic Military Training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, Oct. 18, and the day before received his official Airman Coin recognizing his transition from civil trainee to airman at a special ceremony.

Additionally, his was the coveted Honor Coin for placing in the top 10 percent of the entire graduating class of over 630 airmen in both academic and physical test scores.

His mother Cherie Gordon Landl of Inlet (her fiancee Howie Brainard could not attend due to an accident), his father Robert Landl of Inlet and his fiancee Cherrie Pignone, his sister Sarah, his grandparents Linda and Robert Gordon of Inlet and special friends Lisa and Tom Honan attended the ceremonies.

Jason will remain at Lackland for the next 13 weeks to complete technical training before moving on to his career goals in the U.S. Air Force.
