Robert G. McGibeny

Robert G. McGibeny, 72, of Frankfort, NY and Raquette Lake, NY, died Sunday morning, December 9, 2012 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Utica.

Born on November 26, 1940 in Herkimer, he was the son of Robert J. and Marion (Griswold) McGibeny. He was a 1958 graduate of Herkimer High School.

Robert married Suzanne Ormsby on June 15, 1984 in Indian Lake. Suzanne died on February 18, 2008 following 23 years of marriage.

He was employed for over 30 years as an assembler at Remington Arms in Ilion and later worked for 10 years at Golden Beach, Raquette Lake for NYSDEC.

Robert enjoyed boating, camping, fishing, hunting and riding his motorcycle.

Survivors include his son, Robert J. McGibeny and his wife Christy of Frankfort; two step-sons, Christopher Northrop and his wife Stephanie of Raquette Lake and Michael Northrop and his wife Cheryl of Saranac Lake; three grandchildren, Robert J. McGibeny, Jr., Jacqueline N. McGibeny and Lauryn L. McGibeny; two step-granddaughters, Ryleigh L. Northrop and Emmileigh S. Northrop; one sister, Joan Maywalt and her husband Paul of Oswego; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call Wednesday from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the Frankfort Center Fire Department, 799 Center Rd., Frankfort and from 12 noon to 3 p.m. Thursday at the Miller Funeral Home, 6357 State Rte 30, Indian Lake.

Graveside services will be in Cedar River Cemetery, Indian Lake.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Robert’s memory may be directed to the Raquette Lake Fire Department or to the Frankfort Center Fire Department.

Cecilia Duane Godin

Cecilia Duane Godin, 84, died December 9, 2012 at the Chautauqua County Home, Dunkirk, NY. Born March 15, 1928, in Tupper Lake,  she was the daughter of the late Delbert and Elizabeth (Gochie) Duane. A resident of Long Lake for most of her life, Cecilia graduated from Long Lake Central School and worked at the Long Lake Post Office, Tupper Lake Supply, The Hamilton County Lumber Company and the Long Lake Medical Center. She was a     life-long member of St. Henry's Roman Catholic Church. Cecilia was an avid Mets fan. For the past six years, Cecilia lived with her son, Michael, in Fredonia, NY.

Dear mother of John (Stephanie) Lemieux, Rev. Deacon Michael Lemieux, and Robert (Linda) Lemieux. Grandmother to Stephen (Dawn) Lemieux, Casey Lemieux, Jamie Lemieux and Jennifer Lemieux. Great Grandmother to Memphis Collegian.

In addition to her parents, Cecilia is predeceased by her husband, Maurice Godin, and infant son, John Lemieux. Calling hours are scheduled for Wednesday, December 12th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the St. Henry’s parish hall in Long Lake. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10  a.m. at St. Henry’s church. Arrangements are with the Stuart-Fortune-Keough funeral home.
