Pulaski man dies in IL snowmobile accident

INDIAN LAKE -- State Police are seeking help from the public to determine what happened Thursday, Dec. 12, when a Pulaski man was killed in a snowmobiling accident here.

State Police in Indian Lake and the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a snowmobile accident on Crow Hill Road at about 8:53 p.m.

According to a press release, Gregory J. Labarge, 52, was operating a 1996 Polaris snowmobile in a northerly direction on Crow Hill Road when he entered a ditch, causing him to be ejected from the snowmobile.

Labarge was transported to Glens Falls Hospital by Indian Lake Volunteer Ambulance Corps. While en route the supervising doctor at the hospital advised the crew to stop life-saving measures.

Hamilton County Coroner Donald L. Townsend pronounced Labarge dead at 9:20 p.m. The cause of death is pending autopsy results.
