WELLS -- The Wells Central School Board of Education has increased the rate of pay of substitute cleaners to $9 per hour, the rate of pay for non-certified substitute teachers to $70 a day and the rate of pay for certified substitute teachers to $90 a day as of Jan. 1.

The board has also added Gerald Bubniak and Adam Clute to the list of substitute teachers.

Because of the resignation of Amanda Palmer, Kyle Subik has been appointed as the Class of 2019 advisor, retroactive to Dec. 9, 2013.

Superintendent Thomas Sincavage told the BOE Dec. 18, 2013 that he had met recently with the school's certified public accountant, Ray Preusser, regarding the 5-Year Strategic Plan. He said they had some very preliminary projections for fund balance for fiscal year 2013-14 and it is looking good.

He also said preliminary budget figures look favorable.

Mosaic Architects submitted the plan for the building project to the state Education Department Dec. 17, 2013.

The date of the International Club trip to New York City, originally planned for Memorial Day Weekend, has been moved to May 9-11 because of a conflict with a baseball sectional game.
