Wells and Indian Lake / Long Lake were scheduled to play games Friday, Jan. 3. Wells cancelled its boys and girls games versus Ticonderoga while the IL/LL boys and girls traveled to their game in Lake Placid.

LK PLACID 40, IL/LL 38

The Blue Bombers of Lake Placid got off to a strong start against the IL/LL boys with a 25-12 first half. The Orange battled in the second half to tie the game at 38 late in the fourth quarter. Lake Placid netted a shot with seven seconds left in the game to get the win.

Henry Sandiford led the IL/LL surge, recording 15 of his game high 20 points in the second half.

IL/LL:  Hoag 2-4-8, Pine 0-1-1, Sandiford 7-3-20, Seaman 2-0-5, Short 0-1-1, Giessen 1-1-3. Totals: 12-10-38.

Lake Placid: Reid 0-0-0, Meister 0-0-0, Moore 3-0-6, DiNicola 0-0-0, Kordziel 3-0-6, Cecunjanin 3-1-8, Rossi 7-0-14, Woodruff 1-0-2, Brandes 0-0-0, Pratt 2-0-4. Totals: 19-1-40.

In the girls' game, Lake Placid held a slim lead after each quarter, before Shannon Farrell netted nine of her game high 18 points in the fourth quarter, to give IL/LL the 38-35 win. In addition to her scoring, Farrell recorded four blocks and 12 steals. Lily Dechene contributed 11 points and nine rebounds.

IL/LL: Wilder 0-0-0, Moore 0-0-0, Farrell 8-2-18, Piraino 2-0-4, Hamdan 0-5-5, Dechene 5-1-11, Seery 0-0-0. Totals 15-8-38.
