As the first semester came to a close for local high schools the Northern Basketball League had a limited schedule to allow students to focus on mid-term exams.

IL/LL 43, SCHROON LK. 24

Shannon Farrell, a senior on the IL/LL girls' basketball team, scored 13 points to lead her team to a 43-24 win over Schroon Lake Thursday, Jan. 30. Lily Dechene and Jazmin Piraino chipped in with nine points each for The Orange. The win improved IL/LL's record to 9-3.

IL/LL: King 1-0-2, Dumond 0-0-0, Moore 3-0-6, Farrell 3-5-13, Piraino 4-0-9, Hamdan 2-0-4, Carroll 0-0-0, Dechene 4-1-9. Totals: 17-6-43.

Schroon Lake: Ververka 2-1-5, Finnerty 2-0-6, Garland 0-0-0, Rodriquez 0-0-0, Gadway 2-1-5, Lanaue 0-3-3, Wisser 2-0-4, Subra 0-0-0. Totals: 8-5-24.

CROWN PT. 43, WELLS 9

The Wells girls traveled to Crown Point Thursday, Jan. 30. The Lady Indians trailed by seven points at halftime before the host Panthers put the game out of reach in the second half. Chelsea Kennedy was the leading scorer for Wells with four points.

Wells: Mayer 1-0-2, Brown 0-0-0, Brenan 1-0-2, Simons 0-1-1, Kennedy 2-0-4, Darling 0-0-0, Foster 0-0-0. Totals 4-1-9.

Crown Point: Ryan 0-1-1, Crowningshield 1-0-2, DuShane 2-0-4, Bertsche 1-0-2, Wolf 5-0-10, Harrington 3-2-8, Foote 6-2-14, Landry 1-0-2. Totals: 19-5-43.

WELLS 61 CROWN PT. 49

The Wells' boys hosted Crown Point Friday, Jan. 31. The Indians trailed by seven at the half, but weren't ready to concede. In the second half Wells outscored Crown Point 40-21 to pick up a 61-49 win. Wells' record now stands at 4-7.

Seth Weaver led Wells with 17 points and 13 rebounds, while Ben Brenan hauled in 18 rebounds.

Wells: Chicoski 4-3-12, Weaver 6-5-17, Peck 2-0-5, Taylor 5-0-13, Michienzi 3-0-6, Brenan 3-0-6, Collado 0-0-0, Beach 0-0-0, Young 0-0-0, Foster 1-0-2. Totals 24-8-61.

SCHROON LK. 64, IL/LL 50

IL/LL hosted Schroon Lake in Long Lake Friday, Jan. 31. The Wildcats of Schroon Lake jumped out to a 16-7 first quarter lead and went on to gain the 64-50 win over The Orange. At week's end the IL/LL record was 7-5. Henry Sandiford and Curtis Seaman led the IL/LL offense with 17 and 16 points respectively.

KEENE 69, WELLS 12

For the second day in a row The Lady Indians traveled north for a league game facing Keene Friday, Jan. 31. The host Beavers led 15-2 after the first period and went on to win 69-12. Wells' record at the end of the week was 0-10.

Wells: Mayor 1-0-2, Brown 0-0-0, Brenan 0-0-0, Simons 1-1-3, Kennedy 2-0-4, Darling 1-0-3, Foster 0-0-0. Totals: 5-1-12.

Keene : Gagliardi 0-1-1, Bruha 2-0-4, Whitney 9-0-19, Peduzzi 11-1-23, Ta. Geiger 2-1-5, Gifford 0-0-0, Tu. Geiger 8-1-17. Totals: 32-2-69.
