Generosity still needed

Saturday, January 11, 2014 - Updated: 4:16 PM

Dear Editor,

I wish there were some way we could meet each of our donors in an effort for them to witness the substantial impact they have on others when they donate to Community Action Agency.

The generosity goes above and beyond what one might expect, bringing to life the statement, "If you let people know there is a need they'll be more than willing to help." It's all a matter of coming together with others who have a similar purpose or goal in life. Thanks to the Four Rivers Alliance of Hamilton County and all the wonderful members with whom I collaborate.

You may have noticed boxes strategically placed (schools, post offices, chamber of commerce and banks) throughout the county. These boxes and the lists attached are updated on a regular basis according to current needs within the county.

Within our recent update we accumulated a great deal of infant and toddler shoes and clothing, toys, bedding, and winter clothing ranging in sizes 4T to XXL. This has filled a huge need; however, we continue to see a significant need for infant to Junior clothing, men and women's jeans, winter boots of all sizes and kitchenware. So whether you have outgrown your current wardrobe, looking to update your wardrobe, or just looking to downsize please consider making a local donation.

I don't think anyone truly realizes how much something so simple as an outgrown pair of shoes, clothing, or a blanket that has been tucked away and forgotten means to someone who has gone without. So please, if you can't locate a box and would like to donate you can call Community Action at (518) 648-5911) for assistance.
