Free tax preparation at LPL

Thursday, March 06, 2014 - Updated: 9:04 PM

Dear Cris,

It has been brought to my attention that there are still a lot of our county residents not familiar with a service we offer at Lake Pleasant Public Library.

We are in our third year of partnering with United Way and the IRS to provide free tax preparation for our communities. If you have an income of $58,000 or less you are eligible.

Please look for the posters in the post offices, Charlie Johns store and the library to see what they can help you prepare. We also have federal and state tax forms for anyone wishing to do their own taxes.

Also, if they go to our website at lakepleasantlibrary.org, click on Library Services and then click on Free Taxes you can prepare them yourself.

We have openings for our last Tax Day Saturday, March 22; please call the library at 548-4411 to schedule an appointment. If there is enough interest we may be able to add another day.

Deborah Desrochers, director

Lake Pleasant Public Library
