Oak still needs help

On Sunday, July 15, The Friends of Oak Mountain held an appreciation picnic for all who have given of their time and money to the support of keeping this ski and recreation property open.

With the recent sale of this property to a private concern, the Board of Directors of Friends of Oak took the time to share with those attending the continued need for their volunteer hours and donations to fund community activities such as fireworks, youth races and awards... as well as the efforts of the Oak Ski Patrol.

The tremendous amount of manpower required for successful year-round events such as hill climbs, mountain bike rallies and fall festivals will never happen without a vibrant community-based organization to work with the property owners.

The next fund-raising event for Friends of Oak is the 2nd Annual Gary O’ Outing Fore Oak... golf and banquet, Friday, Aug. 24, at LP Golf Club and The Inn at Speculator.
