Candidates' forum slated

Tuesday, August 13, 2013 - Updated: 2:10 PM

Dear Editor,

I am told that all candidates involved in the upcoming Republican Primary for Lake Pleasant party lines have agreed to a public forum to be held Monday, Aug. 26, at 6 p.m. at Lake Pleasant Central School.

I look forward to this opportunity to hear from our town's people, residents and taxpayers. With an open seat for our highway superintendent and a contest for the Republican designation for supervisor, it seems quite important for our voters to have a chance to voice their concerns and ask questions of us all.

The public's business should be an open and transparent affair, where all are welcome to participate. I urge all of our folks to come, regardless of party of affiliation, and help define our direction and future.

Neil P. McGovern, supervisor

Town of Lake Pleasant
