Dave McComb turns the handle to let some freshly made maple syrup flow into a bucket from the huge, stainless steel wood fired boiler in his sugar shack at McComb’s Oak Hill Farm in Speculator. When in full production mode, the boiler gobbles about a wheelbarrow full of logs every 8 to 12 minutes.
