Summer hours at library start

The Virginia Hosley Free Library in Wells announces the start of summer hours. Starting Thursday, April 7, the library will be open Thursdays 6 to 8 p.m., as well as the usual days of Tuesday 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to noon.
The library is known for its collection of DVDs and puzzles as well as a large selection of books. Also there are now two Android tablets that can be checked out with restrictions or used in the library. Library holdings can be checked out and delivered to shut-ins when requested. Wells Historical Society meeting April 18

The Wells Historical Society will hold its first meeting of 2016 on April 18 at 2 p.m. at the Wells meal site. Our new Hamilton County historian, Eliza Darling, will be attending and bringing us news of exciting opportunities available to our group. We will also be discussing various projects we will be involved with during the summer.

Sing. Dance. Tell jokes. Play an instrument. Start a band. Slam Poetry. Monologues. You name it, you can do it at the Mud Season Talent Show, April 17, 1 p.m. at the Town Hall. Open House scheduled for May 7

The Long Lake Volunteer Fire Department Members, Officers, Board of Trustees, Ladies Auxiliary, and Commissioners announce an open house at the new fire station, located at the intersection of South Hill Road and Newcomb Road/Rt. 28N, on May 7 from noon to 4 p.m. Refreshments served and formal announcements at 1 p.m. All are welcome.
