Ann Elizabeth Purdy

January 2, 2013

Ann Purdy, 94, of Speculator, NY, entered peacefully into God’s presence Wednesday, January 2, 2013, surrounded by her family at home.

Born May 14, 1918 to Hjalmar and Alice Rask in Springfield, MA, she went as a teen to CAMP-of-the-WOODS where she met Gordon Purdy. They were married in 1939, and spent 64 adventurous years side by side serving the Lord.

Ann was a trained concert pianist, and taught piano early in her life. She loved music, cats, good conversation, and most of all her entire family. Always willing to listen, caring, generous and concerned, she was the complete “mom.” The depth of your love, patience and selfless caring will forever be in our hearts, and keep us near.

She is survived by Don (JoAnn) Purdy, Speculator, NY; Carolyn (Doug) Schoen, Brookfield, WI; Rich (Joan) Purdy, Downingtown, PA; Bob Purdy, Fort Wayne, IN, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A life celebration service will be held Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 11 a.m., Northville Baptist Church.

Family will hold a private burial service at a later date.

No flowers please – memorial gifts may be made to Speculator Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Helping Hands Caregivers, 145 White Birch La., Indian Lake,  N.Y.
