Inlet gets organized for 2014

INLET -- The Inlet Town Board held its 2014 Organizational Meeting Monday, Jan. 6. What follows are some of the organization resolutions it passed.

The superintendent of highways was authorized to spend up to $1,000 on equipment without prior approval of the town board.

Mileage reimbursement was set at $0.56 cents per mile.

Adele Burnett was appointed deputy town clerk.

Town Clerk Patty Wittmeyer was appointed registrar of vital statistics and with Burnett as her deputy. Wittmeyer is also the bookkeeper for the Highway Department.

Donald Townsend was appointed deputy superintendent of highways. Kenneth Nelson was appointed deputy tax collector and Letty Hayes town historian.

Supervisor John Frey is also the budget officer. Councilman Herbert Schmid is deputy supervisor.

Tony Sega was authorized to provide housing and maintenance for all cats and dogs collected by the town. He will be paid $1,000 for 2014.

The board authorized signing a contract with Public Sector HR Consultants, Glenville, for human resource management and employee relations services during 2014 for $2,400, to be paid quarterly.

COMMITTEES

Councilmen Bill Faro and Herb Schmid were appointed to the Parks / Buildings / Ski Trails Committee.

Councilmen Tim Brownsell and Faro were appointed to the Highway / Transfer / Groomer Committee.

Councilmen Dan Levi and Brownsell were appointed to the Information Office Committee.

Councilmen Schmid and Levi were appointed to the Assessor / Codes Committee.

Frey and Wittmeyer were appointed to the Sewer Plant Committee.
