Long Lake Library has a variety of events slated

LONG LAKE -- Cornelius Vanderbilt Whitney Long Lake Public Library has an assortment of events coming up during the remainder of the winter, from crafts to computer classes and books to plays.

Puppet Boot Camp will be offered Jan. 29; Feb. 5, 12 and 26; and March 5 and 12 at 2:45 p.m. At Puppet Boot Camp children learn about the art of puppet making and theater. Children in grades Pre-K through six will make a variety of puppets and learn about other cultures.

Valentines with Louisa will be Wednesday, Feb. 12, starting at 1 p.m. at the Nutrition Site at Town Hall.

Make special Valentine's Day cards with Louisa Woodworth of Incapahco Artisans.

iPad Workshops Feb. 5 and 12 will teach how to navigate an iPad starting at 4 p.m. at the library.

A Book Discussion Wednesday, Feb. 19, will be on "The Blithedale Romance" by Nathaniel Hawthorne. It starts at 5 p.m. at the library.

Computer Classes with Sally Long are scheduled for Feb. 19 and 26 and March 5, 12, 19 and 26 at the library starting at 4 p.m. Learn more about computers, from beginning to advanced applications.

A Puppet Performance & Workshop is planned for March 15, starting at 10 a.m. at Town Hall. Join The Puppet People as they bring Igor Stravinsky's "The Firebird" to life with enchanting puppets. Young and old alike will enjoy the show. After the performance The Puppet People will lead a workshop to make a rod puppet. Both the performance and the workshop are free.
