For the Express

For a third time, the library was awarded the “Books for Children” Libri Grant and we received 65 wonderful new children’s books. Thank you to The Friends of the LP Library for the matching funds.

Also in is a new shipment of adult fiction (19 books) and young-adult books, CDs and DVDs. Be sure to stop in and check them out.

Some of the new children’s books are as follows.

Picture Books: “April and Esme, Tooth Fairies” by Bob Graham; “Baby Bear, Baby Bear, What Do You See?” by Bill Martin Jr.; “A Ball for Daisy” by Chris Rashka.

Picture Books Non-fiction: “I Spy Under the Sea” by Edward Gibbs; “Balloons Over Broadway” by Melissa Sweet.

Juvenile Fiction - Easy: “Mr. Putter and Tabby Clear the Decks” and “Mr. Putter and Tabby Ring the Bell” by Cynthia Rylant; “The Case of the Perfect Dog” by John R. Ericson.

Juvenile Fiction: “Caddy’s World” by Hilary McKay; “The Cheshire Cheese Cat” by Carmen Agra Deedy; “The Crowfield Curse” and “The Crowfield Demon” by Pat Walsh; and “Crush” by Gary Paulsen.

Juvenile Non-Fiction: “Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass” by Russell Freedman; “The Camping Trip that Changed America” by Barb Rosenstock.

Young Adult Fiction: “Article 5: Compliance is Mandatory” by Kristen Simmons (sci-fi); “Caught” by Margaret Peterson Haddix (sci-fi).

The Book Club Selection for March is “I Feel Bad About My Neck” by Nora Ephram, a frank and uproariously funny book about life as a woman of a certain age.
